The Bear Song

The other day
I met a bear
Out in the woods
Away out there

He looked at me
I looked at him
He sized up me
I sized up him

He said to me
Why don’t you run
I see you ain’t
Got any gun

And so I ran
Away from there
And right behind
Me was that bear

In front of me
What do I see
A great big tree
Oh, lucky me

And so I jumped
Into the air
But I missed that branch
Oh way up there

Now don’t you fret
And don’t you frown
I caught that branch
On the way back down

That’s all there is
There ain’t no more
Unless I meet
That bear once more

I heard a crack
I heard a crunch
And soon I was
That big bear’s lunch

That’s all there is
That ain’t so much
Unless that bear
Barfs up his lunch

This song can be even more entertaining if someone dresses up like a bear; they can act out the song as the song leader leads the group

The leader sings a line/ then the group repeats it/ after 4 lines then everyone sings it together
